COUVET, April 26, 2018 • Following rapid growth during the last few years and in order to simplify the personnel logistics in Couvet, GMT Fine Chemicals SA (from now on “GMT”) shareholders approved in 2017 the construction of a new building that will accommodate new offices, a larger Warehouse and upgraded QC laboratories.
The construction started two weeks ago and the new building will be ready by the middle of 2019. In order to be able to do this important investment the support of the Canton Neuchatel was important and essential.
“The support of the economical department of the Canton promoting the investments and industrial growth on the territory was really extraordinary and it shows the close collaboration of the authorities with the industry in order to generate value for the territory”, affirms Gabriel Haering, CEO.
The increased production, due to continuous growth of the demand of Reduced Folates from the market, has led to an increase in workforce and restriction of space available in the incoming warehouse. More space was therefore required in order to accommodate the future demand.
Once the building in place, additional upgrades are planned in the coming years in the actual production area. Production and shipments to our partners will not be affected by the building extension.
